Broken Saddle Rescue

Broken Saddle Rescue is a horse rescue organization serving the Houston area. Founded by Chassidie Pommier in memory of Chevy, a horse who died after being neglected, the organization works to prevent other horses from suffering similar hardship. Its mission is to give abandoned, neglected and unwanted horses the care, shelter and companionship they need to recover and thrive.

Broken Saddle Rescue is committed to each horse from rescue through rehabilitation, providing practical care and a safe home. The stories of Cassie, Coco and Princess illustrate the transformation made possible through consistent attention, nourishment and affection. Beyond caring for its rescues, the organization invites the community to support its work by volunteering at the barn and pasture, helping with feeding, bathing and upkeep, fundraising, and alerting the team to horses in urgent need. Donations also help fund rescue and care efforts. Broken Saddle Rescue welcomes new ideas and community involvement, and hopes to expand its capacity, eventually establish a barn on its own property, and offer riding lessons and training for rescued horses. Its goal is to make horse rescue a lasting, growing effort.
