About Broken Stone Winery
Broken Stone Winery is a family-founded winery in Prince Edward County, Ontario, established in 2009 by Tim and Micheline Kuepfer. Built on a dream of a different way of life, the winery grew from three hayfields into a vineyard shaped by the region’s limestone geology and the challenges of its climate. Its approach emphasizes disciplined vineyard care, local roots, and persistence through spring frosts and summer droughts.
The winery produces small-batch Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, with vintages that often sell out. Its Pinot Noir earned first place at the 2025 Judgement of Kingston. Visitors can explore the wines and book winery experiences, or enjoy The Pause, featuring wood-fired pizza, live acoustic strings, and relaxed Sunday dining. Broken Stone also highlights its regenerative farm, where a flock of sheep serves as natural mowers, and shares stories about vineyard life through its journal and weekly newsletter.
