Brower Youth Awards is a brand that celebrates and supports young environmental leaders. Since 2000, the New Leaders Initiative program of Earth Island Institute has been providing innovative programming for youth leaders across North America. Their goal is to engage, grow, and support environmental and social justice activists, empowering them to reach their full potential.

Brower Youth Awards offers a range of youth programming, including fellowships, micro grants, media training, mentorship, leadership development, professional skill building, webinars, networking events, workshops, community partnerships, and access to resources. Their flagship event, the Brower Youth Awards, recognizes outstanding youth leaders in the environmental movement. Each year, six young people based in North America are awarded a cash prize of $3,000.

The winners' inspiring stories are shared through short documentary videos and acceptance speeches, inspiring environmental activism in others. Brower Youth Awards also provides a week-long forum leading up to the awards ceremony, offering mentorship, training, visioning, networking, and career coaching. The program has a strong commitment to amplifying voices from diverse backgrounds to foster success and innovation.

Each year, the winners join the growing Brower Youth Awards alumni, recognized for their sustainable projects, innovative ideas, and positive impact on the world.
