BSPHO, the Belgian Society of Paediatric Haematology Oncology, brings together recognized Belgian centres specializing in childhood and adolescent blood disorders and cancer, along with the professionals who care for patients. Its mission is to improve care and ensure access to the most effective treatments for young people with cancer in Belgium by sharing expertise, knowledge and resources.
The organization provides information for families about childhood cancer, including cancer types, diagnostic procedures, treatments, clinical trials and the decision to participate. It also offers guidance for survivors on long-term follow-up and life after treatment. For healthcare professionals, BSPHO provides a members’ area for sharing information among recognized centres, as well as training courses and educational materials developed with partners. Resources include materials for patients and families, such as information about neuroblastoma, and professional education in paediatric oncology.
BSPHO also organizes meetings, symposia and clinical trial events, publishes news, and supports research and collaboration to improve treatment and the quality of survivorship.
