About BtcTerminal
BtcTerminal was a Bitcoin-focused infrastructure project that developed tools for assets and applications on Bitcoin and related networks. Founded in 2023, it began with Ordinals and launched as Runes Terminal when the Runes protocol went live, later expanding to support Fractal Bitcoin, BRC-20 tokens, and Bitcoin second layers. Its products included RunesEtcher, RunesScan, RunesPad, and RunesBook, alongside FractalExplorer and the ApesofBTC tap-to-earn game.
The team also launched a token in June 2024, which was listed on BitMart, MEXC, Gate. io, and MagicEden, among other platforms. BtcTerminal said its tools and community helped bring more than 50,000 people into the Bitcoin ecosystem.
However, the project did not achieve the adoption needed to operate at scale as interest shifted away from Runes, and the team announced it was shutting down. It advocated for native Bitcoin infrastructure, including explorers, issuance tools, and launch platforms. The team also warned that its social accounts were closed and impersonating accounts could be fake
