Buckfast-Zucht

Buckfast-Zucht-Friedrichskoog (BZF) is a specialist beekeeping business based on Germany’s North Sea coast in Schleswig-Holstein. Led by beekeeper Dr. Peter Stöfen, the apiary has supplied Buckfast queen bees for more than 20 years and is a member of the European Buckfast Beekeepers’ Association. Its queens are bred at the company’s facility in Elpersbüttel and at the Friedrichskoog mating station.

BZF offers breeding queens that are selected and mated at designated stations, as well as production queens intended for honey production. The company reports that, since 2023, its queens have come from breeding stock tested for hygienic behaviour. Products available through its shop include individual breeding queens and sets of three production queens; orders placed outside the season may be scheduled for the following season.
