**Bucknell University Crew** is a distinguished rowing program with a rich history dating back to its founding in 1873. Officially established in the early 1980s, the program was revitalized by Randy Leavitt in 1983 and has since evolved into a co-ed powerhouse. Initially operating without docks, the team quickly gained recognition, competing in prestigious regattas along the East Coast, such as the Head of the Schuylkill and Head of the Charles. Under various dedicated coaches, Bucknell Crew has secured numerous accolades, including medals at the Dad Vail Regatta and Eastern College Athletic Conference events.
Throughout its development, the program built strong foundations for both the men’s and women’s teams and achieved varsity status in 1990. With a commitment to athletic excellence and gender equity, Bucknell Crew continues to foster a competitive spirit and camaraderie among its members, delivering exceptional training and opportunities for growth in the sport of rowing.
