BUDDIES of the 4th Armored Division Písek is a Czech historical association dedicated to preserving and sharing the story of Písek’s liberation by the U.S. Army in May 1945. Active for more than twenty years, the club connects historical research with public education and commemoration. Its members collect archival sources, document personal testimonies, and investigate the people, units, events, and places associated with the liberation and the wider history of the 4th Armored Division.

The association’s work extends beyond military reenactment and living history. It organizes and contributes to annual liberation celebrations in Písek, honoring American liberators and the Czechoslovak resistance, and leads public activities such as historical walks. Its website offers articles and resources on U.S. Army ranks, weapons, vehicles, campaigns in Normandy and Belgium, the liberation of Písek, and memorial sites in southwestern Bohemia. The club also shares news, photographs, and historical features through social media and other publications. People can support its mission through donations of money or materials, participation in its Support Crew, or club membership.
