Bude Pilot Gig Club is a friendly, welcoming rowing club based at Upper Tamar Lake near Bude, Cornwall. Founded in 2002, it is Cornwall’s most northerly gig rowing club and offers people of all abilities the opportunity to experience Cornish pilot gig rowing, improve their fitness, compete, and take part in social activities. The club rows on the lake throughout the year and goes to sea from Bude when conditions allow.

In spring and summer, members attend regattas around the South West, with crews also entering events including the London River Race, the Newquay Cornwall County Championships, and the World Championships. The fleet includes two fibreglass six-oared gigs used for training and a wooden gig, built by Ralph Bird in 2003, used for regattas and championships. A newly opened boathouse provides storage for boats and equipment and supports launching from the beach.

The club welcomes new rowers and relies on member involvement and fundraising to support its work as a registered charity
