Budo Sportverein

Budo Sportverein Gelsenkirchen 1980 e.V. is a martial arts club in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, with a history of kickboxing in the city dating back to 1980. The club offers intensive kickboxing training focused on fitness, endurance and preparation for tournament participation. Training takes place at the gymnasium of Max-Planck-Gymnasium, accessible via Westerholter Straße. Sessions are held on Mondays and Thursdays from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., and Sundays from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The club supports athletes taking part in competitions, including events organized by WAKO Germany and WAKO NRW, and shares news about tournaments, results and club activities. Its community also includes young participants: the club has reported activities for children aged four to six, including a relaxed opportunity to demonstrate their skills. Alongside training and competition, members take part in group outings and other social events. Places are limited, and membership is possible only when training capacity is available. The club’s website provides current news, training information, historical features, videos and frequently asked questions.
