Budokai Leiden

Budokai Leiden is a school dedicated to the practice of traditional Japanese martial arts. Its training covers three disciplines: Wado Ryu karate, the art of the empty hand; jodo, which focuses on staff techniques; and iaido, which develops sword techniques. The school presents these arts as part of budo, the broader practice of Japanese martial ways, and offers information about their backgrounds, training components and curricula.

Classes are taught responsibly in a relaxed atmosphere, with instruction adapted to participants’ experience levels. Alongside learning the techniques and traditions of each discipline, students are encouraged to focus on personal development. Both beginners and more experienced practitioners are welcome, and participants can train in any of the three martial arts. People interested in getting started can attend a free trial lesson or take part in an introductory course. Budokai Leiden also shares articles and updates related to its activities, including demonstrations and introductory lessons, helping visitors learn more about the school and its approach before joining.
