About Bpb.De
The former Alliance for Democracy and Tolerance - against Extremism and Violence (BfDT) projects are now being continued under the roof of the Federal Agency for Civic Education since January 1, 2023. For over 20 years, the BfDT played a crucial role in promoting democracy and tolerance in Germany. The BfDT recognized and connected civil society engagement nationwide.
Operational activities were integrated into the Federal Agency for Civic Education in 2011. Initiated by its founding ministries, the BfDT was dissolved on December 31, 2022. Formats like the "Active for Democracy and Tolerance" competition, the Youth Congress, and the ceremony honoring the "Ambassadors for Democracy and Tolerance" are now continued by the Federal Agency for Civic Education.
