BÜRGERSTIFTUNG WÜRZBURG UND UMGEBUNG

Bürgerstiftung Würzburg und Umgebung is an independent community foundation created by local residents to support people and projects in Würzburg and the surrounding region. Founded in 2006, it brings together volunteers who contribute their time, money and ideas to strengthen the community in a sustainable, targeted and practical way, particularly where public support is insufficient. The foundation provides financial assistance to individuals, groups, associations and organizations seeking to realize local projects.

Its funding spans education, science and research, environmental protection, nature and local heritage, culture and historic preservation, sport, animal welfare, and intergenerational and religious initiatives. It also supports educational opportunities through the Würzburger Bildungsfonds and offers community programs including the Kinderbeirat, Radeln ohne Alter and sozialgenial, alongside its affiliated sub-foundations. Individuals can contribute by donating, establishing or supporting a sub-foundation, volunteering, sponsoring a project or applying for funding.

Through these efforts, the foundation helps residents create opportunities, preserve local resources and build a better future for Würzburg and its surroundings
