Building Blocks

Building Blocks is a leading brand in the design, engineering, manufacturing, and installation of glass fiber reinforced concrete (GFRC) and glass building facades. With a rich history dating back to 1983 in Chicago, Illinois, our first major project involved restoring the magnificent terra cotta facade of the Merchandise Mart. Over the years, we have established a respected reputation in the facade restoration industry.

As the industry evolved and introduced GFRC as an alternative to terra cotta, Building Blocks quickly embraced this innovative material. We realized its potential to replicate the intricate details and complex shapes of terra cotta while offering shorter production timelines, lighter weight, faster erection, and cost-effectiveness. Our love for GFRC led us to expand into new construction projects, where we discovered the material's design flexibility, diverse finishes, and limitless applications.

To ensure quality control of our GFRC supply, we established a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Florida, providing our projects with industry-best materials. To deliver a complete enclosure, we also incorporate glass into our designs, partnering with top-notch window manufacturers from Italy and the USA. Today, we take pride in being a complete solution provider, from design to construction, offering GFRC and glass wall systems made in the USA.

Our innovative wall systems enable curvilinear architecture, high-performance prefabricated walls, faster rates of enclosure, and push the boundaries of curtainwall designs. At Building Blocks, our passion for architecture drives us. We firmly believe that well-designed and constructed buildings have the power to inspire people and improve lives.

With creative problem-solving, teamwork, and nearly four decades of experience, we strive to deliver industry-leading solutions that fulfill the creative visions of our project partners.
