About Building Centre
The Built Environment Trust is an independent charity that aims to better understand and communicate the social impact of our surroundings on people and communities. Best known for the Building Centre, a dynamic hub located in the heart of London, the Trust brings together designers, product manufacturers, and the public to create a vibrant space. Established in 1931 and based at 26 Store Street, the Centre for the Built Environment showcases not only buildings but also the spaces between them, such as roads and parks.
In 2022, the Trust launched BET Learning, a program designed to inspire various audiences, including schools, young people, families, and adults, to engage with the built environment. Through activities and engagement, participants can influence and shape the world around them. The Trust's vision is centered on understanding how humans connect with the built environment and its impact on our daily lives.
By fostering understanding and appreciation for our living, working, learning, and recreational spaces, the Trust aims to enhance well-being and create positive change. The Trust actively seeks partnerships with organizations that share their commitment to improving the built environment and offers opportunities for collaboration and transformation
