About BLFI
BLFI, the Building Limes Forum Ireland, is a voluntary organization established in 2005 to promote expertise and knowledge in the use of building limes. Affiliated with BLF UK, BLFI is dedicated to the repair of historic buildings and new construction projects. Based in Ireland, the Forum operates as an information network and publishes newsletters and an annual journal.
BLFI collaborates with BLF UK to organize an annual Workshop and Gathering, held in various locations across the UK and Ireland. These events provide a platform for professionals, builders, conservators, craftsmen/women, and property owners to exchange ideas and learn about the appropriate use of lime in building. The Forum's objectives include disseminating information through publications and conferences, conducting practical research and development, promoting industrial and craft skills, providing education and training, fostering international partnerships, and advancing the interests of the Forum.
