Civilization

Civilization is a design, branding, and strategy studio creating digital and physical experiences for designers, architects, cultural institutions, and grassroots organizers. With roots in the Pacific Northwest and a decentralized, collaborative team, the studio brings in specialists to meet each project’s needs. Its work uses research-led design to communicate ideas, build consensus, and connect people with art, design, and education.

Civilization works across two complementary areas: supporting advocacy on issues such as equity, justice, public health, climate action, and civil rights, and helping creative organizations share their perspectives and engage audiences. Services include brand identity and development, brand and marketing strategy, creative direction, campaign and advertising design, social media, collateral, and responsive website design and development. The studio also offers user experience and interface design, accessibility compliance auditing, digital product strategy, ecommerce, and mobile app interface design.

Beyond client projects, Civilization leads workshops and classes, lectures at universities and conferences, and creates exhibitions and public initiatives. Its recognition includes a Cooper Hewitt National Design Award, Webby Awards, and Anthem Awards.
