BUMSUZ

BUMSUZ, also known as Bumsuz Cenazefonu or the Bumsuz Burial Association, is a Denmark-based membership organisation established in Glostrup in 2022. Its formal name is Danmark-Bumsuz Solidaritets- og begravelsesforening. The association provides practical and legal assistance when a member dies in Denmark, including arrangements for transport to Turkey and burial there; it also supports funeral arrangements in Denmark. In addition, BUMSUZ aims to address members’ social and cultural needs in line with decisions made at its general assembly.

Membership is open to people from Bumsuz living in Denmark and others with permanent residence in the country, subject to payment of membership fees. The association lists an annual contribution of DKK 200 per household member, alongside initial joining fees that vary by age and status. It is governed by a board and holds general assemblies where eligible members can vote and stand for election. BUMSUZ also shares updates through its website and Facebook page, and provides contact details for enquiries and membership information.
