Fundación Red de Energía BUN-CA is a non-governmental organization (NGO) established in 1991 and based in San José, Costa Rica. They aim to address the environmental needs and challenges of the Central American region. BUN-CA focuses on three key areas of work: Energy Efficiency, Renewable Energy, and Sustainable Development.

In terms of Energy Efficiency, they actively promote activities that optimize energy generation, distribution, and final usage systems. They also emphasize the production and rational use of renewable energy resources, encouraging the adoption of cleaner and commercially viable technologies. BUN-CA has defined its agenda based on the specific energy needs of the Central American region.

Furthermore, BUN-CA spearheads various regional initiatives such as the Central American Fund for Energy Access and Poverty Reduction (FOCAEP), which proposes alternatives to reduce poverty and support economic growth in rural areas. They also drive the Regional Initiative for Strengthening Renewable Energy Capacity in Central America (FOCER), implemented by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
