M. Elisabeth Bundi’s Foundation for Cancer Patients is a Norwegian charitable foundation established in 2009 following the death of M. Elisabeth Bundi, who left almost all her estate to create it. Raised in Oslo, Bundi emigrated to Washington, D.C., after graduating in 1961, completed her university education in the United States, and worked for 30 years at the World Bank. She later lived with cancer for ten years in Oslo.
The foundation provides financial support for initiatives that improve care and assistance for people affected by cancer. Its work includes backing projects that help cancer patients and support the development of cancer-care professionals and organizations. Its charitable purpose also allows funding for hospice operations and special projects, including the construction of hospices in Norway. Individuals and businesses may contribute financial support.
The foundation is led by board chair and managing director Per Einar Unhjem Johansen. Through its grants and project support, it aims to strengthen cancer care and the services available to patients in Norway.
