Burcott Riding Centre is a family-founded equestrian school established in 1970 by Mrs Molly Payne. Originally serving local children, adults, schools and clubs, the centre continues to provide instruction and is B.H.S. approved. It is now run by partners Nikki Stephens and Bob Andrews, who live on site.
The centre offers private tuition for riders of all abilities, with lessons available on its own horses or on a horse brought by the rider. Following a reduction in its horse numbers during the COVID lockdowns, spaces for lessons on the centre’s horses are limited. Riders can also explore clinics and courses offered by the school.
For horse owners, Burcott provides full and working livery, as well as breaking and schooling services. Its stated aim is to offer experienced, thorough support tailored to the needs of each rider and horse. The centre combines modern practices with practical experience and a sensible approach, creating a range of riding and horse-care services for its community.
