Regional Historical Museum Burgas, established in 1912, is the largest museum in Southeast Bulgaria, dedicated to uncovering and preserving the area’s rich cultural heritage. The museum transitioned from a private initiative to a public institution in 1946 and is now instrumental in archaeological research, conservation, and the promotion of ethnographic values.

It features four major exhibition spaces housed in architecturally significant buildings in the heart of Burgas. The museum showcases a collection exceeding 100,000 artifacts, including archaeological and ethnographic treasures, while also engaging in the protection and management of cultural resources.

RIМ Burgas actively participates in educational programs, organizing archaeological excavations, conservation initiatives, and competitions that highlight living heritage under UNESCO protection. The museum also collaborates with various cultural institutions both locally and internationally, contributing to regional tourism development and cultural exchange.
