Burlsworth Trophy

The Burlsworth Trophy, established in 2010 by the Brandon Burlsworth Foundation, honors college football’s most outstanding player who began their career as a walk-on. Named after Brandon Burlsworth, a trailblazing athlete known for his determination and integrity, the trophy celebrates players who embody his values, including hard work and perseverance. Brandon, who rose from having no scholarship offers to becoming an All-American and a third-round NFL draft pick, tragically lost his life just days after the draft.

In addition to the prestigious trophy, the Brandon Burlsworth Foundation supports various charitable initiatives, notably providing free eye-care services to underprivileged children. Each year, the foundation also awards several scholarships in Brandon's name, helping to empower students from low-income backgrounds.
