Buttermilk Forty Alpacas LLC is a small Suri alpaca ranch in Sedalia, Missouri, owned by Steven and Jennifer Crane. The ranch focuses on breeding Suri alpacas, prized for their soft, silky, lustrous fiber, and welcomes visitors to learn about these gentle, inquisitive animals and hand-feed them. Set on about 45 acres, the property features views over the Muddy Creek bottoms, duck ponds, and memorable sunsets.
Visits and farm tours are available by appointment, with occasional public events. From May 1, 2025, tours cost $5 per person for visitors aged two and older. Guests can also ask about using the picnic pavilion. The farm store offers alpaca products including socks, blankets, and novelty items, as well as yarn and roving made from the ranch’s alpaca fiber.
Buttermilk Forty also welcomes eligible members of Harvest Hosts and RV Overnights for overnight RV stays, with the opportunity to tour the farm and shop.
