Buurtbus Zaanstreek Zuid

Buurtbus Zaanstreek Zuid is a volunteer-run community bus association serving residents and visitors in the southern Zaanstreek area of the Netherlands. Its service, bus line 456, connects Krommenie/Assendelft station with Zaandam station, travelling through places including Assendelft Zuid and Nauerna. Around 55 volunteers help operate the route according to a fixed timetable, providing a local transport option from Monday to Saturday.

The buses are operated in partnership with EBS; the association reports using blue buses with a lowered floor and wide doors to make boarding easier. The website provides timetable and travel information, a route map, and updates about disruptions, diversions, and service changes. It also shares news through Facebook and invites people to volunteer as community bus drivers.

In addition to its transport information, the site features a walking route and details about the association. Buurtbus Zaanstreek Zuid focuses on maintaining a useful, community-supported connection between local towns and railway stations, while keeping passengers informed when weather or other conditions affect the service
