The Humanitarian Association of Volunteer Firefighters of Almoçageme is a community-focused organization that has served the Almoçageme area since 1895. Its volunteer firefighters work to protect local residents and provide emergency response, with services spanning pre-hospital care, patient transport, firefighting, and rescue, including high-angle operations. The association also uses unmanned aircraft to support operational teams during certain incidents.

Beyond emergency response, it provides patient transportation, preventive safety services, door-opening assistance, water transport, and equipment services involving pumps and generators. Its training offer includes operational courses and programs for businesses, supported by instructors, training rooms, and other facilities. The organization also runs a clinical center offering medical specialties, physiotherapy, clinical laboratory testing, and services through agreements.

Community facilities and activities include a sports pavilion, museum, and children’s playground. The association recruits firefighters and offers a youth Infants and Cadets School for participants aged 6 to 16, combining training, activities, and teamwork. It is supported by institutional partners including local and national civil protection, emergency medical, municipal, and community organizations.
