The Associação Humanitária dos Bombeiros Voluntários da Trafaria (AHBVT) is a community-focused humanitarian association serving Trafaria and nearby areas in Portugal. Founded on 25 June 1931, it has more than nine decades of experience protecting lives and property through emergency response, firefighting, medical assistance and civil protection. Its work is supported by volunteer firefighters, members and the wider community, guided by values of protection, dedication and local solidarity.
Alongside emergency services, AHBVT provides non-emergency patient transport for appointments, treatments, examinations and hospital transfers, using equipped vehicles and trained staff. Its certified training programme offers courses in first aid, CPR, firefighting and workplace safety, including sessions for organisations. The association also makes meeting and training rooms available, with facilities such as Wi-Fi and projection equipment, and rents its historic Salão Nobre for dinners, ceremonies, celebrations and other events.
People can support the mission by becoming members or volunteers, making donations, or assigning 0.5% of their Portuguese income tax to the association at no additional cost.
