BWARS, the Bees Wasps & Ants Recording Society, focuses on the British and Irish Aculeate Hymenoptera - a category that includes bees, wasps, and ants. With approximately 590 species in Britain alone, aculate life histories are diverse and fascinating. Bees, for instance, collect pollen for their larvae, while wasps typically hunt and paralyze prey.

Ants are social insects, living in colonies with queens and thousands of worker ants. BWARS provides extensive resources on these insects, including species accounts, identification guides, and research papers. They also offer data downloads and information sheets for enthusiasts.

Whether you're intrigued by the behavior of cuckoo bees or the hunting skills of spider wasps, BWARS is the go-to source for all things related to British and Irish aculeates. Join BWARS to delve deeper into the captivating world of these remarkable insects
