About Brisbane Writers Festival
Brisbane Writers Festival is Australia's oldest continuous writers' festival, connecting communities and showcasing creativity through the power of words. Held on the beautiful South Bank of Brisbane, this festival welcomes thousands of readers and writers each year to celebrate books and ignite conversations. With a diverse program featuring author panels, speeches, performances, and more, there's something for everyone at BWF.
From the Word Play and Love YA programs for younger readers to thought-provoking discussions and immersive experiences, the festival caters to all literary interests. As a platform for both emerging and established voices, BWF fosters a vibrant and inclusive literary community. Embracing the rich Indigenous heritage of the land, the festival acknowledges the contributions of the Yuggera and Turrbul people and pays respect to elders past, present, and emerging.
