About Bwindi Trust
Bwindi Mgahinga Conservation Trust (BMCT) is a renowned brand dedicated to the preservation of biodiversity in Uganda's Mgahinga Gorilla National Park and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Established in 1994, BMCT focuses on community development projects, research grants, ecological monitoring, and funding park management to create greater conservation awareness.
One of BMCT's primary endeavors is the protection of endangered mountain gorillas. Through conservation efforts, their population has increased to 1,063 confirmed individuals—a testament to the effectiveness of their initiatives. Additionally, BMCT plays a vital role in promoting resilient livelihoods, empowering local communities, and supporting youth and women with skill-building programs.
Engaging with key stakeholders at national and international levels, BMCT actively collaborates to further its conservation efforts. Furthermore, the Trust Resource Centre serves as a hub for nurturing children and youth's physical, social, emotional, and cognitive abilities.
With a proven track record of success, BMCT welcomes partnerships and support from individuals and organizations who share their vision. By joining forces, we can make a significant impact in conservation and community development. Get involved and contribute to the protection of our irreplaceable natural treasures.
