Kadri is a cashmere brand rooted in Srinagar, Kashmir, the birthplace of cashmere. It grows from a fifth-generation family business and the regionโs long-standing craft traditions, drawing on approximately 800 years of vernacular craftsmanship in Jammu and Kashmir. The brand reinterprets these techniques for contemporary use, expressing Kashmir through bold colour and graphic lines rather than conventional pashmina styling.
Kadriโs collection includes handwoven blankets, throws, quilts, carpets and scarves. Its pieces are made through a network of Kashmiri artisans who work across spinning, weaving, dyeing, printing, hand-painting and embroidery. Many work from home, and the wider cottage industry involves close to 2,000 workers. The cashmere fibre is hand-combed from Changthangi goats in Ladakh, on the Tibetan Plateau, a rare breed valued for producing some of the worldโs finest cashmere. Kadriโs textiles are handspun by women as well as handwoven, creating lightweight, breathable cashmere that softens and blossoms over time. The brand is scheduled to launch in Fall 2026.
