BYOS is an environmental solutions organization that promotes collective action to develop innovative, sustainable responses to environmental and development challenges. Its work is grounded in an integrated understanding of territories and their social and ecological dynamics, with an emphasis on responsible management of renewable natural resources, dialogue, and shared goals.

The organization offers services across five practice areas: biocultural landscapes, environmental governance, sustainable bioeconomy, sustainable finance, and collaborative learning. Its work includes territorial planning, governance design, conservation initiatives, organizational and technical capacity-building, and support for bioeconomy ventures. BYOS also facilitates dialogue and coordination among communities, public institutions, and other stakeholders, and helps mobilize financial resources for conservation and sustainable development.

Its project experience includes work in Ecuador’s Amazon and Andean regions, including fisheries management, protected and conserved areas, forest products, and community-led initiatives. BYOS has collaborated on projects supported by organizations such as UNESCO, WWF Ecuador, GIZ, and the United Nations Development Programme. The organization presents its portfolio as continually evolving and invites prospective partners to work together.
