Byron Rogers Racing is the personal site of Byron Rogers, a horse owner, racing enthusiast, and builder of technology-focused projects. It shares notes, projects, and occasional updates, with a particular interest in applying technology to the breeding and selection of racehorses. Current work includes Equient, a machine-learning model for pedigree analysis, and Equishape, a project using three-dimensional morphometric analysis to help predict breeding outcomes.
The site also tells the story of the racing colours currently owned by Rogers. First registered to R.A. “Bob” Miller, they were worn by notable horses including Windbag, winner of the 1925 Melbourne Cup and later a leading Australian sire. In more recent racing history, the colours were worn by Let’s Get Physical, winner of the 1985 Blue Diamond Stakes. The horse was bred and raced in partnership by Rogers’s father, Dr. Chris Rogers. Visitors can also contact Byron through an email address revealed on request, a simple approach intended to keep his inbox manageable.
