C. Vélo is a brand that offers a range of cycling products and services. With a focus on sustainability and energy transition, C.

Vélo is actively working towards developing renewable energy sources. As part of this effort, they are extending and interconnecting their urban heating networks. Additionally, a new network will gradually connect more than 10,000 equivalent homes, significantly reducing the carbon footprint of the area.

These construction works will begin on November 7th and are expected to cover a total length of 70 km and serve over 20,000 homes by 2026. C. Vélo is committed to saving approximately 25,000 tons of CO2 emissions annually, which is equivalent to removing 10,000 gasoline-powered cars from the road.

The investment in these projects amounts to nearly 65 million euros, with support from the Agency for Ecological Transition (ADEME). To accelerate the energy transition, C. Vélo is creating a new heat network in the southern part of the region.

This network will serve the Saint-Jacques neighborhood, as well as parts of Aubière and Beaumont. The energy for this network primarily comes from the Valtom energy recovery unit, helping to achieve carbon neutrality. Managed by a new mixed-economy company called Clauvaé, this network will cover 33 km and provide heating and hot water to 10,000 equivalent homes.

During the construction period, measures will be taken to minimize disruptions, including appropriate signage, traffic diversions, and maintaining access for pedestrians, residents, emergency vehicles, and open businesses.
