C₂O Fisheries

C₂O Fisheries is an Australia-rooted organisation specialising in sustainable management of coastal fisheries and marine resources, with a strong focus on the Indo-Pacific. Its science-driven, community-focused approach helps coastal communities, resource managers and local leaders respond to climate impacts and support responsible use of marine resources. Through C₂O Pacific, the organisation builds teams focused on marine and coastal resource management and conservation across the Pacific. It works with a diverse network of partners, including local and international NGOs, regional agencies, governments and community groups.

C₂O Fisheries develops and supports projects that strengthen community capacity, promote resilient ecosystems and advance sustainable fishing practices. Its work includes community-led resource management, conservation planning and monitoring, with examples such as the Vanuatu Community Marine Monitoring Toolkit, capacity building in coastal resource management in Tuvalu, and a management plan for the Port Resolution Community Conservation Area in Vanuatu. The organisation also shares research and project resources through its publications and library.
