About CentroAmazónicoPerú
The Centro Amazónico de Antropología y Aplicación Práctica (CAAAP) is a non-profit organization established in 1974 by the bishops of the Peruvian Amazon. Its mission is to serve vulnerable populations, particularly indigenous communities, and preserve the rich cultural heritage of the Amazon rainforest. CAAAP engages in various activities that promote education, health, and environmental sustainability. The organization addresses pressing issues such as health epidemics, contamination from industrial activities, and the preservation of indigenous land rights.
CAAAP also works on fostering collaboration among indigenous organizations, governmental entities, and civil society. They provide valuable resources including academic publications, infographics, and podcasts, which aim to raise awareness about the challenges facing the Amazon and its inhabitants. Through initiatives like the coordination of local radio stations, CAAAP ensures that the voices of the Amazonian people are heard. The organization's commitment to advancing indigenous rights and environmental issues continues to influence positive change in the region.
