MB Généalogie is a professional genealogy firm established in 2011 and specializing in inheritance research. Its work connects notaries and heirs who may be unaware of one another, helping facilitate the settlement of estates. Its services include identifying and locating heirs, establishing a complete or partial line of succession, and confirming succession details when family or civil-status records are missing or incomplete. The firm also verifies that no heirs have been overlooked and provides evidence of an heir’s entitlement. It works mainly on behalf of notaries, but can also be commissioned by parties with a direct interest in settling an estate, including lawyers, judicial administrators, and life insurance companies.

Fees depend on the assignment: inheritance research is remunerated through a contract with the heir, based on a percentage of the net share received, while location and confirmation work are charged at a previously agreed fixed fee.
