About CABT
CABT (Coalition Against Bigger Trucks) is a leading voice for highway safety, advocating for sound transportation policies and opposing dangerous truck configurations. With over 3,500 members including law enforcement officers, EMTs, safety leaders, engineers, independent truck drivers, and elected officials, CABT has been working tirelessly since 1995 to protect motorists and preserve the integrity of our roads and bridges.
While semitrailer trucks are crucial to the U.S. economy and transportation system, longer, heavier trucks pose significant risks. Not only do they endanger motorists, but they also incur billions of dollars in taxpayer-funded highway subsidies. CABT stands firm, questioning whether compromising the safety of thousands of motorists and repairing damaged bridges is worth the cost of hauling more freight.
Polls show that voters and law enforcement officers strongly oppose bigger trucks. However, Congress and state legislatures are actively debating this issue. Proposals to increase truck weight limits and introduce longer combination vehicles are being considered. Join CABT in protecting highway safety and ensuring sensible transportation policies for our nation. Connect with us on Facebook and Twitter for the latest updates.
