Caburgua Sustentable

Fundación Caburgua Sustentable is a nonprofit association established in 2017 to protect the natural heritage of the Lake Caburgua watershed in Pucón, Chile. Its work brings together environmental care, education and culture, and community development, with a focus on the lake, its wider watershed, landscape, native flora and fauna, and the people who live in the area.

The foundation promotes responsible care of the aquatic environment, including awareness around boating and the disposal of rubbish and pollutants. Its education initiatives provide learning materials, training and community orientation, and support Paillaco School through the Vigilantes del Lago program and a computer room. It also works to strengthen local ties through social assistance, support for firefighters, and ongoing engagement with neighborhood associations.

Through community action, the organization advocates for the protection of Lake Caburgua and the Trafampulli River, and encourages residents to help safeguard the watershed.
