The Grayson County Children’s Advocacy Center (GCCAC) supports children affected by abuse and works to help prevent abuse across the community. Its mission is to advance children’s safety and healing while building a community committed to prevention. GCCAC coordinates a multidisciplinary response, bringing together law enforcement, child protection, prosecutors, medical professionals, advocates, and therapists so children and families can receive coordinated support without navigating the process alone.
Its services include forensic interviews, medical care, therapeutic services, family advocacy, and ongoing support. The center also provides prevention education and resources to help create a safer environment for children. Its vision is a community where every child grows up safe, valued, and free from abuse, reflected in its guiding message: “Every Child. Every Service. Every Effort.”
Community members can contribute through donations, volunteering, internships, advocacy, and partnerships. GCCAC also shares information about recognizing signs of abuse and reporting concerns. Located in Sherman, Texas, the center works to reduce additional trauma and help children and families move toward healing.
