Cachet is a browser-based issuance console and verifiable registry for Zcash Shielded Assets (ZSAs), currently operating on the public ZSA testnet. It lets users create assets, issue a public supply, send or burn assets, and browse registry information, including assets, network activity, balances, and transfers. During minting, Cachet builds a transaction with zero-knowledge proofs and commits it to the ZSA chain.
Asset names and images are cryptographically bound to each asset’s identifier, making changes produce a different asset rather than silently altering the original metadata. Users can verify descriptions and metadata in their browsers, while shielded holders’ balances remain private. The browser also downloads public blocks and checks them locally for a user’s own notes, without asking the registry to identify which assets they hold.
Cachet provides a console, registry, issuer and collection resources, and supporting materials such as an API reference and working paper. The project emphasizes verifiable claims, privacy, and open-source software under the MIT license
