Cactusarium

Fundacja Cactusarium is a foundation dedicated to the ex situ conservation of cacti and selected other succulent plants. Its collection in Ostrzyce, in Poland’s Pomeranian region, includes around 5,000 plants, some as old as 50 years. Most have been grown from seeds collected in the wild with documented locations, helping safeguard the genetic resources of species whose often small natural habitats can be vulnerable to damage.

The foundation makes its collection widely accessible through Cactusarium, a public cactus exhibition at Ramlejska 11. Visits are available daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. by prior telephone appointment. It also offers educational visits for schoolchildren and young people, led by an experienced guide who shares knowledge about cactus cultivation and life in the wild. The foundation’s work also supports scientific, educational, and regional tourism goals. Visitors and supporters can follow its plant updates on Facebook and Instagram or contribute through Patronite and donations. Cactusarium welcomes visitors interested in plants, conservation, and learning about cacti.
