Cadela Carlota & Companhia is a nonprofit animal protection association based in Lagos, in Portugal’s Algarve region. Since 2008, it has cared for abandoned dogs and cats, focusing on their health, safety, well-being and quality of life. The association’s team, supported by many volunteers, provides the animals with essential care, comfort, training and affection while seeking permanent homes for those who can be adopted. Some animals, including older pets and those with chronic health conditions or mobility limitations, are considered difficult to adopt and may remain at the shelter, where they continue to receive care.

The association invites the public to support its work by adopting an animal, becoming a foster family, sharing its page, joining as a member, sponsoring an animal, volunteering or making a donation. Its website also features information about the animals, the organization and ways to help, along with articles and contact details. Through community support, Cadela Carlota aims to give abandoned animals security, love and, whenever possible, a lasting home.
