Founded in 1871 as the Diocese of St. Albert and elevated to the Archdiocese of Edmonton in 1912, the Catholic Archdiocese of Edmonton is a vibrant and diverse community of faith, serving approximately 500,000 Catholics across Central Alberta, Canada. We are home to 116 parishes and 11 missions, two Catholic post-secondary institutions, and one seminary. Mass is celebrated in multiple languages, reflecting the rich cultural and ethnic diversity of our faithful—making us one of the most inclusive and multicultural dioceses in the country.
