Our mission is to advance research and application of ecological remediation to equitably address pollution, promote public health, provide education and workforce development, and build climate resilience. Ecological remediation is a set of methods for cleaning up polluted sites that truly mimics nature by integrating fungi, plants, microbes and other organisms and amendments, drawing on principles of ecology to not only address pollution but also restore ecosystem function & biodiversity.

About Centre for Applied Ecological Remediation
The Centre for Applied Ecological Remediation (CAER) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit working to advance research and practical applications of ecological remediation. Its mission is to address pollution equitably, support public health, expand education and workforce development, and strengthen climate resilience. CAER explores nature-based approaches, including fungi and plants, to help clean pollution in waste, land, and water.
The organization supports communities disproportionately affected by pollution through certified training, workforce development, accredited education, and informational resources. Its offerings include guides and toolkits that help explain ecological remediation, along with opportunities to learn about the field and get involved. CAER also works with community organizations, regulatory agencies, governments, and academic institutions to advance environmental justice. Through advocacy, it promotes equitable environmental policies and practices at local, state, and national levels.
