About Café de Monteverde
Café de Monteverde is a remarkable brand comprised of 20 families deeply rooted in coffee, agriculture, conservation, and education. With a rich heritage spanning over four generations, our families have dedicated themselves to cultivating, processing, and roasting the finest quality coffee in the Monteverde Region. Our commitment to the environment is evident as we strive for harmony with the surrounding cloud forest.
Coffee culture was introduced to Monteverde in the early 1930s by families from Costa Rica's central valley, and as their descendants, we have cherished their legacy to share it with you today. From seed germination to ripe cherries, processing to sun-dried beans and roasting, we oversee every step of the coffee production process. We have been fortunate to partner with Texas Coffee Traders, who have been instrumental in promoting Fair Trade practices in Costa Rica.
Situated near the Monteverde Cloud Forest, our main farm in Cañitas not only houses our cupping laboratory for quality control but also includes an organic vegetable garden and diverse livestock. In 2008, we launched the Life Monteverde educational program, designed to educate future generations about sustainable production and foster a love for coffee and agriculture. Join us on this journey to learn more about coffee production, sustainable farming, and experience the true essence of seed-to-cup coffee.
