Café The Dojo

Café The Dojo is a family-focused play, café, coworking and movement space planned to open in 2027 in Edmonton, Alberta. Located on the second floor of 7121-104 St NW, the 5,500-square-foot venue is being created by local physician and longtime judo coach Rashad Chin, whose family-oriented approach draws on the principles of judo: using energy well and growing together.

Its four spaces are designed to serve children and adults side by side. Little Ninjas offers a supervised-style play environment with climbing features, monkey bars, padded floors and tatami mats, alongside café seating where adults can keep an eye on the play area. Black Belt Coffee will serve espresso drinks, smoothies, snacks and light food. Coworking options are planned to include day passes, memberships, desks and Wi-Fi. The multi-purpose studio dojo is intended for yoga, stretching, recovery, circuits, jiu-jitsu, dance, classes and workshops, with red-light recovery panels.

Café The Dojo also plans to host ninja-themed birthday parties, private play sessions and community events.
