About Cahaya Society
Cahaya Society, established in January 2019, is a pro-advocacy and community group focusing on alternative education programs for the Cahaya community in Sandakan, Sabah. This community comprises illiterate children, orphans, and less affluent individuals. Registered as Pertubuhan Pendidikan Anak Cahaya Sabah with the Registry of Societies of Malaysia, Cahaya Society is dedicated to advocating for stateless children's education.
They have created the Cahaya Learning Center (CLC) to facilitate discussions, arts, philosophy, and more. Emphasizing community empowerment, they work on project management with collaborative partners. Cahaya Society aims to create long-term advocacy and solidarity within society, striving for impactful social change.
