CAID RD, also known as the Centro de Atención Integral a la Discapacidad (Center for Comprehensive Attention to Disabilities), is an organization dedicated to providing high-quality services and strengthening institutional support for children with disabilities in the Dominican Republic. They recently presented their first strategic institutional plan for the years 2023-2026, which focuses on the pillars of comprehensive quality care and institutional strengthening. The plan aims to improve the therapeutic process by implementing evaluation and diagnostic tools to determine the developmental and clinical progress of children.

It also emphasizes the importance of promoting parental and psychoeducational skills within families to ensure proper management and social integration of children with disabilities. In terms of institutional strengthening, CAID RD aims to enhance its performance by standardizing management processes, optimizing services and infrastructure, and ensuring financial sustainability. The plan has received support from the Ministry of Economy, Planning, and Development, as well as the collaboration of the European Union and UNICEF.
