About CAI sottosezione Isola d'Elba
CAI Isola d’Elba is the Island of Elba subsection of the Club Alpino Italiano, dedicated to celebrating the island’s natural environment and helping people explore it responsibly. Inspired by a love of nature and a spirit of solidarity among people who enjoy the sea, the association works to enhance the local trail network and promote care, cleaning and knowledge of Elba’s landscapes. Its activities include guided excursions, with a calendar available for visitors and members, and information about the island’s hiking paths.
The website features routes for the Grande Traversata Elbana (GTE), with guidance for travelling from east to west or west to east, as well as hiking maps and information on water points. The association also welcomes new members and shares photographs and news from its outings and events. Through its CAI Friendly programme, it lists participating local businesses and offers information on shop partnerships and ferry agreements, including discounts with Moby and Toremar.
